A High Rankings Review
Since I started working at High Rankings I have been getting the full SEO
initiation and training from Jill. However, I recently had the opportunity
to learn more about Web analytics — in particular Google Analytics — from
an outside source. Since we offer analytic services to our clients as part
of our full SEO campaigns, I needed to be able to talk to them with
confidence about Google Analytics — and more importantly, to be able to
offer them genuine help.
In my search to broaden my knowledge, I came across the good folks at ROI
Revolution. I checked into their credentials, and was pleased to see that
they are a Google Analytics authorized consultant. Plus, their course
covered training on every aspect of learning Google Analytics. I was quickly
sold on their service and signed up for their Deluxe Google Analytics
Training Series, which appeared to be the best value.
The training series is broken into 6 modules conducted live online via
webinar — 1 each week for 6 weeks as follows:
Module #1: Basic Implementation
Module #2: Advanced Implementation
Module #3: Troubleshooting
Module #4: The General Google Analytics Interface
Module #5: Visitor Information and Ecommerce Data
Module #6: Marketing Resources and Techniques
They start by showing you how to correctly set up your Google Analytics
account while avoiding the most common mistakes, and you progress by
learning to use your account so that it performs in a way that will provide
you with accurate and actionable data.
The live sessions were great! Each module covered general topics and then
drilled down deeper into more specific details and instructions. During
each session, participants were able to ask the expert instructors questions
via a live chat feature, which I found very useful. Also, at the end of each
session they conducted a live call-in Q&A so that you could ask any
additional questions you had. I was extremely impressed with their helpful
and attentive staff. I had many questions, and they were all answered in a
manner that was helpful and insightful.
Maybe you’re thinking, “I am incredibly busy, what if I miss a week of the
online training?” No need to worry; they have this covered in many ways! For
instance, I have a tendency to zone out at times when things get too
technical or if I simply get distracted for some reason, and that happened a
few times during the live sessions. Thankfully, they provide you with online
course recordings of each webinar, which allow you to review them any time
you want, as many times you want. Having access to these webinars on demand
was so helpful, especially when I didn’t understand something or missed it
the first time around. Being able to go back and review each session at your
own pace is fantastic, and a great way to solidify what you learned in the
live sessions.
ROI Revolution also provides an MP3 file of each live training class plus
the Q&A sessions from the end of each class, which are also a great way to
review. In addition, they provide 2 incredibly packed workbooks that help
you follow along with the live or on-demand course. These workbooks follow
the same outline as the course modules, and are great for taking notes or
jotting down questions or thoughts about a particular topic or section.
My only criticism would be that there were a few instances where they zipped
through some things fairly quickly, which left me feeling a bit perplexed;
however, I understand that is to be expected since they were trying to cover
so much in a 6-week course. Since I could get my questions answered during
the live chat or Q&A session, it never was really a problem.
Overall, I was incredibly pleased with ROI Revolution and their training
series. I learned a lot about Google Analytics and analytics in general.
They did a great job of presenting the training modules to the group as a
whole, even though the participants all had many different individual
implementations and reporting issues. I also understand that they are
constantly fine-tuning this training series based on feedback from past
participants in order to make it even better.
In addition to everything else that comes with the deluxe training course,
they also provide you with a free 30-minute Google analytics audit of your
own (or your client’s) account to check for errors and answer any specific
questions you may have. Plus, they have an unofficial Google analytics blog
which can provide you with answers to advanced questions. If you have very
complex issues that aren’t covered elsewhere, you can also sign up for an
additional support plan for an extra fee.
All in all, you just can’t beat the value their deluxe Google Analytics
course provides you with for under $700. I highly recommend ROI Revolution
and their training series to anyone who is using or plans to use Google
Analytics, or for anyone who is interested in learning more about it. It
will certainly open your eyes to what analytics can do for your business or
your clients’.
